Craig Parmerlee discusses basic physics concepts (Newton’s first two laws of motion) as they apply to the motion of a trombone slide. Modern carbon fiber materials present an opportunity to improve the performance of the trombone from a physical standpoint.  Mr. Parmerlee shows two different carbon fiber slides and then gives a musical demonstration playing a trombone equipped with a new Spurling carbon slide
